American Truco (Truco variant / variante juego de truco ) with card drafting and bidding

== American Truco (Variant) ==
No of players: 2, 4 (2 against 2 in partnership)

Deal: Deal 3 cards to each player. Then lay down the 'talon' of 3 cards face-up.
then the 4th card is picked up and placed face-up below the stock pile.
The 4th card is the trump, only the trump's rank matters, the suit is irrelevant.
i.e.if 8-Spades is trump, all 8's are the highest cards in a trick.

Phase 1 Bidding for a replacement: If any player wants to replace 1 card, he can vouch for it.
If no other player from the opposition, vouches for it, the player can pick it up, and discard the card
from his/her hand.
If a player from the opposition vouches, the players must bid to provide a replacement.
A replacement is a card that is of either the (i) same rank or 1 below (i.e. 9D can be replaced with 9C,9S,9H or 8H,8D,8C,8S )
or (ii) 2 cards of the same suit (i.e. 9D can be replaced with 5D & 7D).
A Bid is the no of cards the player can provide either (i) from his hand [not more than two] or (ii) pick from the stock pile
thus the lowest bid is '0' meaning - no card will be taken from the stock pile. if the bidder will be laying down 2 cards
to replace the card, he must also pick up 1 other card from the talon to replenish his hand to 3.
If both players vouch for the same card at the same bid, a player may decide to vouch for another card in the talon, and can
bid for this card.
Betting against the bid: The opposing team may wager that the player will not be able to find a replacement card within
the amount bid, if wager is done it is 1-point, the opponent can double or triple the wager, if the bidder fails to make
the replacement, the wagering opponent scores 1,2 or 3 points for a simple wager, double or triple. And if the
bidder makes the replacement, the bidder gets the vouched card and any wagered points if any.

Phase 2: Vying for Envido: Any player may vie, and state 'Envido'. An Envido is vie or wager stating the players
hand has either (i) a high card in any suit or (ii) the highest sum of 2 cards in the same suit. Ace counts as 1 point
for envido, and all face cards J,Q & K along with the 10 count for 10, all other cards count for their rank.
Thus in a hand of - 9S-3D-KC the Envido score is 10(for the king)
in a hand of - 9S-7S-KD the Envido score is 16 = 9+7 (as they are the same suit).
A wager of Envido is worth 2 points if accepted, and 1 point if not accepted to be played by the opponent.
The player or the opponent can increase to 3-points, 4-points or the remainder of their points needed to win the game.
acceptance will provide 3,4 or remainder points to the winner, and rejection will provide 2,3 or 4 points to the wager.

Phase 3: Playing Tricks: The players now play each card to win the maximum of 3-tricks. If the first 2 tricks are won by a team
the 3rd trick is not played, if the any trick is tied, the winner of the first trick wins the set.
Tricks are won by the highest card played, regardless of suit, if a card of the trump-rank is played it beats all cards.
There is no necessity to follow suit, play a trump or to play the highest card.
At any point in the game, a player my wager 'Truco' to double the points for winning the maximum no of tricks to 2-points.
An opponent may accept or reject this wager. An acceptance will grant the winner 2-points and a rejection grans the wager 1-point.
This again may be incrased by the player or the opponent to 3-points, 4-points or the remainder of their points needed to win the game.acceptance will provide 3,4 or remainder points to the winner, and rejection will provide 2,3 or 4 points to the wager.

Checkers 2011

== Checkers 2011 ==
Combination of Checkers, Lasca & Hasami Shogi

Movement of pieces:- A pawn can move (and jump) in five directions - the standard Checkers diagonally-forward moves are extended by horizontally-left, horizontally-right and directly forward moves. When a pawn reaches the last row, it turns to a king that can move (and jump) one space in any direction (left, up-left, up, up-right, right, down-right, down and down-left).
(Movement follows Gothic Checkers).
Can(not) jump over own piece, can jump over opponent to imprison. (* - rule to be revisited)

Types of Pieces: (i) Piece/Soldier - a single piece of any color (ii) Column - a stack of more than one piece, containing the
commander (top most piece) which indicates the user who commands the piece, and prisoners (of any color) below.
(iii) king - once a piece or a column reaches the last rank, it is promoted to a king and can move one space in any direction.

Capture:
(i) Imprisonment: If the space behind a piece is empty, leap over the piece to imprison it.
This can only be done orthogonally forward or diagonally forward for Piece/Soldier and orthogonally and diagonally forward
and backward only (NOT sideways).
i.e. like Lasca the piece (or top-most piece of a column) is taken and placed under the piece, if the jump was over
a column the removal of the top-most piece will liberate the rest of the column, and the now top-most piece will command the column.
A Capture MUST be performed if presented, multiple-captures can be performed and must be performed with the capture
taking the most number of hops performed (even if this does not necessarily, imprison or capture the most pieces).
A Piece/Soldier cannot perform a 180 degree change in direction to make an imprisonment, a king may and should.
(ii) Elimination: If one or more of an opponents pieces are sandwiched between your pieces they are eliminated and removed
from the board, sandwhiches can be made vertically , horizontally or in the corners but NOT diagonally
(Just like Hasami Shogi - http://senseis.xmp.net/?HasamiShogi )

Capture by sandwiching is automatic, but you are not required to move so as to capture this way. Men are captured by sandwiching when an opposing piece moves to one end of a column or row of opposing men, and a friendly piece is at the other end. Sandwich captures at the edge of the board may wrap around corners.

(iii) Intervention:- If a piece moves between two opposing pieces it cannot be captured, as it does so willingly.

Objective: (i) If all the opponents pieces are imprisoned or eliminated OR (ii) If an opponent does not have a valid move to
make the opponent loses.

== Stud Truco ==

Players: 2, 4 or 6

Deck: Piquet Deck (32 cards 7 to A)

Card Ranking: High-to-Low AKQJT987

Deal: Each player gets 3 cards, 2 face down and 1 face up

after all cards are dealt the top card is turned up and indicates which card

will be trump.

Trump Rule: The trump is the next higher up in rank card to the turned up card.

E.g. If 8 was turned up 8 will be trump, If A was turned up 7 will be trump.

Play: Play follows exactly like Truco with the exception of Envido

Envido: Any 2 cards in a hand of the same suit or a pair can be "vied",

if more than 2 are of same suit, or you have a triplet, just count the top 2 highest.

For vying, the score of a envido is

(i) For a flush(two cards of same suit)

sum of the points for the two cards plus Twenty.

(ii) For a pair the value is the sum of pair multiplied by 2*

Face cards count - 10, A is always 1, number cards count face value

E.g. -
